I have always had an inherent love for all living things.  Whether it was rescuing abandoned baby rabbits or taking in stray cats, I have been caring for animals since I was a young child.  Pets were an important part of my family growing up; my beloved childhood dog, Teddy, paved the way for what has developed into a lifelong passion for animals.

I graduated from Muhlenberg College (Allentown, PA) in 2005 with degrees in

 Psychology and Dance.  After graduating, I relocated to Chestnut Hill and started working as a psychotherapist.  Shortly thereafter, I adopted Ziggy - a confident and spunky little dachshund-mix.  From his first wet puppy kiss, I was in love.  Ziggy taught me so much about patience, loyalty and forgiveness - after all, shoes can be replaced!  This little guy rekindled my love for animals, and I found myself counting the minutes at work until I could go home to be with him.  Deciding that one pup was simply not enough, Nala came into our lives about seven months later via Pennsylvania SPCA.  She started off as a shy, scared and emaciated puppy and has grown into a still shy, but curious, strong and goofy young lady.

As a team, we have learned a lot from each other.  We have worked hard on communication, respect and playing nice...not to mention table manners!  This pair inspired me to return to my love for animals and Z.E.N. (Ziggy + Emily + Nala) Pet Care was born.

After spending a few years working as an addictions counselor, I left my position in order to put all my energy into Z.E.N.  I have completed 8+ hours in private training with my dogs, allowing me an opportunity to learn more about positive training.  I recently received Pet First Aid and CPR Certification through the American Red Cross.  Z.E.N Pet Care is fully insured, and I am a member of both Pet Sitters International and National Association of Professional Pet Sitters.

My motivation in creating this company is to provide personal care; I genuinely care for and treat each pet with the love that I give to my own dogs.  Every pet has different needs, and I strongly believe that it is important to cater my services to meet those individual needs.  Overall, Z.E.N. Pet Care is all about having fun, being happy and providing pet owners with some peace of mind!
